Ric bought this up at the comp, I thought it was good idea and be fun too. What yall thoughts on this ? Maybe we can all chip in every comp like $5 and have it go towards nice plaques or trophy I bet we talk some the hobby shops getting some prizes(set of tires and body etc...) @ the end of the year.So speak up guys!!!!

Are you talking about the prize money going to the winner/winners at each comp or being being held until the end of the series?
I could definitely see something being done at the end of the series, but for each comp? I don't know it seems a little excessive.

My experience is when money is involved, people start taking all of it a lot more serious. That can be a good thing and a bad thing. People start to get more finnicky about the judging and scoring and then it starts to be less fun, because someone might feel cheated.

Don't get me wrong, I would like to win some prize money, but we would have to realize that things would have to work a little differently. I don't know if we could be as lax as we have been in the past three comps. Now granted, it is only $5, but that may be a lot to some. Just my $.02.

Yeah, I didn't think about that and see both the good parts and bad parts.

Point take, thanks for pointing all this out mike. I was looking at part of the picture and not the whole thing.

i believe the money thing will change how we do things now. so far it's been fun, money will make it real serious. but hey i wouldn't mind taking your money........

after thinking of it, i dont think its all to good of an ideaer, like yall have said, it will get way serios, and besides, it will cost me ALOT, because i loose ALOT

So do we divvy up the payout for the seperate class winners? For example Mello runs his High lift as a scaler and he's the only one, so does he just get his $5 back? Or say him and Crusher run as scalers, and Mello wins, does that mean he gets his and Crusher's $5?

In other words does each payout come from those in their particular class?

yeah, if this thing grows maybe we can start up a money deal, but for now i think money is best spent on what mike brings up.

This sounds like a better idea, I been looking into web hosting So we can have own forum and wesbite with a .org name. Prices aren't too bad. Unless brain just uses his server.

i say no money.
more and more were getting away from fun, and into a "business" websites, shirts, entry fees etc. and i for one dont want to loose the fun aspect, when money is involved shit happens, cheating, fights lol, frustration, accuasations etc.

i say no money. ive already offered some trophys i have to the club. there were left over from a car show i held that didnt get used. we could change the plaques, and but a 4x4 on top (has a camaro now) and use them. there brand new in the box , 2 column, about 22" high. very nice. the offer still stands. wouldnt cost more than probly 3-5 bucks to change them.

It would be cool to use it like a "title" have a year of comps at the end of the year winner gets the trophy, winner keeps it for a year then next year, he hands it over if he looses his title.

Just a thought.

would we want to have month to month trophys as well? i think i have enough trophys.

That would be cool that way its not ASSS discouraging when I loose horribly at the end of the year.

I say we do a little donation every time we go out to donate to having a site and what not, maybe, charge a couple bux to get into the comp? No payouts, that makes things too serious, i like the laid back situation were runnin' right now.
