I guess I should start me a build thread.
[Q]
Heres some specs.
17" WB
Clod axles
Pimp cane chasis
Moab XL's on dyed velocity 6 wheels (with weights)
55t lathes
9/8t pinions
TQ3 w/rear steer
TR2
Hitec 5955's front and rear
8.87lbs
[Q]
I just got the 5955's today so I will start my thread from there.
Let me tell you these things are MONSTERS!!
Anways I went to Blockhouse Creek park today will a buddy and wheeled all day. Sorry no pictures, I forgot my damn camera.
I played on this solid rock hill for about a hour and could never get it. Its about 8' tall and about a 60* incline with a 90* ledge at the top.
The truck took some BIG falls but nothing broke. I did kill my body.
[Q]
Here it is when it looked half way nice.
[Q]
With the body off
[Q]
After today......
[Q]
Then the bling...

I actually got them both for $200 to my door. yea there pretty expensive but it saved me from having to make new servo mounts and draglinks. Not to mention there lighter and smaller the 1/4 scales :)

Does anyone make C's for the Clod axles like they do for TLT axles? Seems like a weak and vulnerable spot especially with all that torque pulling and pushing on it all the time.

So they were VERY small and the people were VERY rich. I got really tired of that and now I build 1:1 crawlers for people.
[Q]
I am fixing to just start doing that on my spare time and go to work for a friend who is opening up a Express Oil change down the street as a mechanic.

Well I got my axle tubes, cases, and CVD's in today. I just finished putting it all back together. I am using some stock plastic knuckles just to see how it looks. My aluminum ones will be here tomorrow.
The CVD's made my track width 3/4" wider. It went from 14" to 14 3/4". I guess it will help with stability a little.
Anways heres some pictures. Im going to have to do some weird draglink and tierod mods to get them to clear the case.
[Q]
Heres is the width difference front and back, should help to turn better with the front wider.

Well I got my aluminum knuckles in yesterday, they work GREAT. I have alot more steering angle then the old plastic knuckles.
[Q]
I also built a new 2500mah RX pack using the Energizer batteries. They are cheap and work AWESOME. I get about 4 hours of run time out of the pack.
[Q]
I picked up some battery bars today, im thinking about moving my main pack under each front knuckle. Just have to figure out how to attatch them to the knuckles.

Heres some pictures of some tree crawlin'

Well I went ahead and built some knuckle packs. 3 3900mah Sub Cs under each front knuckle. I used Dean's 12g wire for all of it.
It took me awhile to figure out how to attatch them to the knuckles since the aluminum ones are nothing like the stockers. So I went to HD and got some 1" PVC, I then used 4 screws to hold it to the knuckles. It works like a champ!!
[Q]
I could not BELIEVE what a difference it made. I have a rock ledge in front of my house, before I would roll everytime.I just went out there and it walked up it the first try I was AMAZED!!
Anyways heres some pictures.
