First like to say I love AWN and have been using for more than a year now and generally very happy. Thanks to the developers.

Here is my question:

I recently installed AWN in Hardy from the PPA:
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/awn-testing/ubuntu hardy main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/awn-testing/ubuntu hardy main

I have it configured in the manager to to have the following applets in the following order:
AWN Main Menu, File Browser Launcher, Launcher/Task Manager, Weather, Stacks Trashe
Now the problem is that when I launch an application the app icon will first appear in the proper location (center of dock where Launcher/Task Manager is located) but then will be duplicated about 10 seconds later between the AWN Main Menu and File Browser Launcher icons. Minimizing works on whatever app icon I click on. Right clicking on the delayed instance gives a menu that includes "ungroup" which makes that instance disappear, but it reappears in about 10 seconds.

When I check the AWN Manager (applets screen) I now have 1 "Standalone Launcher" (Experimental) for each instance of the application icons that are duplicated located between the AWN Main Menu and the File Browser Launcher.

I never had this problem before (used AWN in Hardy before but was probably a previous version cause I do not remember there being experimental applets installed). Also, if I try to delete the applet I am told I cannot, and removing it gets rid of the problem but the duplicate icons appear again in 10 seconds similar to the "ungroup".

Any help would be appreciated.

unfortunately that does not work.

I deactivated the Launcher/Taskmanager, however I do like this one as I want a taskmanager just not a duplicate one.

As per Step Five I try to:

1. remove the Standalone Taskmanager applet (if it exists)

when i try to delete it is tells me it is unable to remove the applet.

2. make sure that the process named "taskmand" is not running
(use the System Monitor ("Processes" tab) or the command line (via killall taskmand) to accomplish this)

I kill the process, but it returns when i restart AWN

3. remove any Standalone Launcher applets.

Same as with #1, "unable to remove the applet"

I also tried to completely remove AWN in Synaptic but a reinstall has the same problem.

How can I delete the Standalone Launcher and Taskmanager, as it seems that for some reason these are being activated without my prompting them.
