Both the Clock/Calendar and Sin Nombre python processes have memory leaks.

My system (Ubuntu 8.04 64bit) is using the Hardy Test trunk repository (0.3.1~bzr359), extras (0.3.1~bzr658-hardy1-1) and the Sin Nombre (r32).

Sin Nombre python process starts as 14Mg in size but after 45min 28.8Mg then after 3 hours 109.2Mg. At which time I killed the process and recovered all the memory.

Clock/Calendar python process starts at 22.2Mg but after 2 hrs is 58.7Mg and after 3hrs is 71.9Mg.

I leave my computers running 24/7 and only reboot every 5-7 days so these memory leaks take a unacceptable toll. I hope these issues can be tracked down and eliminated.

I would be happy to test either of these applets once they are fixed.

Hello! I am the maintainer of the clock/cal applet. I will see if there is anything obviously wrong, but a refactor of it is in the works which should take care of the memory leak and more.

Do you use the weather applet? I did the refactor of that applet, so I was wondering if you noticed any leaks with that. That will help me figure out where the issue might be. If the weather refactor also has a memory leak then I need to look at what is going on with AWNLIb paradigms.

The clock/calendar applet didn't use the new-ish set_icon_context, which -should- reduce memory usage. (No Pixbufs! :) For one method, it even used the old PNG hack from BlingSwitcher! That is fixed in r734.
