Blursoft MetaForum is a new kind of social collaboration software in the form of a forum or messageboard. With ideas generated from the shortcomings of other forums as well as the exciting new developments in the fields of web2.0 ajax development, we've come up with a lot of really cool ways to restructure the way forums work, and more importantly, how users interact with them.

Efficiency of use is our driving goal. The basic functions of a forum -- reading threads, quoting other people, responding to threads, and filtering through the noise to find the discussions that interest you -- have been analyzed and torn down and redesigned to maximize their utility while minimizing the amount of clicks and page loads it takes to perform these functions. We've never really understood the way some forum applications do certain things, as it seems almost intended to retard activity of it's members.

Stemming from the idea that the internet should be a free and open place, we've also designed a highly complex statistical moderation system. It shares the similar idea with Slashdot of allowing the members to regulate and moderate themselves, but goes several steps past that and bases a member's moderating power on a multivariate array of various metrics on which a person's worth is based. These metrics foster good posting behavior, and allows the highest ranked members the most amount of power to take care of trolls and problem behavior easily and quickly. There are no admins, there are no dedicated moderators.

Meta was also designed from the ground up to make it incredibly easy for users to sift through the various content on a forum and find exactly what they are looking for, or they can take it all in at once at the same time. We've developed new ways to monitor multiple threads at the same time, filter out topics you don't care about, and tag threads with keywords, plus a lot lot more.

Things are a little shaky right now, but we have gotten a beta version up and running. There are a lot of things in the works still left to implement, as well as a lot of standard things that any modern forum has built in that we just haven't gotten to yet -- however it's fully functional in it's latest revision as far as core functionality, and quite a few of innovative features are in place.

Take a look!
